Why Sunday weddings are the best. . .

If you are like me, then you like to stretch out a celebration for as long as possible (Hello birthday month!). Your wedding day should be no exception. This is why I can’t recommend the Sunday wedding enough!  Why not start the family get together’s, rehearsal dinner and special time with your best friends on Friday or Saturday? Plus, statistically Tuesday is the cheapest day for flights so your out of town guests can push the festivities through Monday! This gives you 4 whole days of celebrating your forever love.

Discounts! Almost every venue will have more affordable rates for Sundays. A lot of vendors will also offer lower rates for the “off peak” day! These extra savings allow you to have more money in your budget for a fancier cake, a designer dress, more decorations or even your honeymoon!

Availability. With so many couples choosing Saturday weddings, not only venues but some of the best caterers and other vendors become unavailable over a year or more in advance. When you choose a Sunday wedding you are sure to get the perfect venue and all the vendors that you want!

Your guests are sure to be delighted to celebrate your special day with you  regardless of the day you pick so why not choose a Sunday and take advantage of this great day’s perks!

When vendors have down time during the wedding season, the don’t take a break. Instead, they come together and create their own little event! In this particular style shoot, Jon Kaplan Photography, Thrifty Beginnings, and Cake Noir came together with the help of some friends and clients to make our venue look spectacular in a way all their own. 2014 off to a wondrous start

You may or may not have noticed, but  The Fields at Willie Green’s has gone through changes over the last year. We went from a 200+ capacity venue to an intimate 125 capacity venue. We changed our pricing to match the smaller wedding market and included some new amenities. Next year, we plan even more additions, but for that you will have to wait for another day.

Last week was our first wedding of 2014 on the farm. With so many new changes I was running around taking notes on what was happening and how things worked with our new set up. I was impressed to find that we could park 53 cars just in our main parking area for the venue. That means that when the farm staff parking is available for overflow, I can park nearly 60 vehicles. I still love to encourage carpooling just in case, but 60 vehicles for 125 guest is just perfect.

Our awesome farm staff placed new ground lights around the venue with a focus on lighting up the ponds and gardens at night. The Fields Snohomish Wedding Venue Farm Rustic Elegant

Sneak peak at our Style Shoot!

The Fields had the pleasure of working with some amazing vendors a few weeks ago on our first styled shoot on the venue. This is a fun day when wedding vendors come together to style a photo shoot to capture everyone’s individual skills and creativity. Included were Jon Kaplan Photography, Cake Noir, and Thrifty Beginnings. Our model, Pam, was fantastic. The best part – she is a Willie Green’s 2014 bride! And I cannot wait for her wedding in August.

Rain or Shine

The excitement at The Fields has been palpable over the last two weeks…we’ve had three fabulous weddings! Our August 3rd wedding was definitely fate. Last year on the same Saturday, Chris and Rachel got married; this year another Chris and Rachel chose Saturday as their special day. Even though their ceremony was delayed due to a missing bus, the couple exchanged very happy I do’s and partied the night away with great food provided by Alexa’s catering. There were some great lawn games for guests and a round of “Minute to Win It” for the winners of the garter and bouquet toss. My favorite part was their Mario themed wedding cake with the bride as Princess Peach and groom as Mario…very fitting with their last name! The fun and games lasted well into the night and came to an end with some s’more roasting by the fire.

A fun mix of family custom and western themes set August 9th wedding apart from any other. Before their ceremony the bride and groom took part in a tea ceremony to bless their marriage. They exchanged heartfelt vows in our gazebo then started the party with music and delicious appetizers provided by Herban Feast. After a delicious dinner the bride donned cowboy boots and guests gathered to join in some foot stompin’ fun square dancing. Their very special day ended with a bang, literally, as lighting lit the sky and thunder rolled over the hills, making a dramatic send off for the happy couple.

Nothing could dampen the spirits of our bride and groom on the 10th, not even a little rain. White flower petals paved the way as the bride walked down the aisle and made stark contrast with the dark clouds overhead. The bride and groom made it through their vows and off to get some appetizers before the rain began. No one seemed to take notice though, as guests enjoyed horse shoes and dancing on the lawn (people from the Northwest don’t mind a bit of rain after all). The fire pit provided some much needed warmth and the tiki torches lit the way for guests to enjoy our lovely flower filled gardens. The bride and groom were all aglow as they were sent on their merry way amid and aisle of sparklers.

Happily Ever After

291_Labrie_CM10362Wedding designer gets to be the bride, that’s our romantic comedy of the summer at The Fields. Our coordinator-turned-bride walked down an aisle strewn with peach rose petals and exchanged vows with her Prince Charming. After the ceremony guests enjoyed different pairing stations which included wine, beer, and whiskey pairings. After filling up on delectable treats provided by Lisa Dupar Catering (the bride’s employer of course!), everyone enjoyed lawn games and great dancing music provided by Craig Slater of Bugsie Productions. And the story closes when the bride and groom were sent off in a shower of sparklers and smiles.

Fairy tales needn’t always be extravagant. I tend to prefer the simply elegant, which is how I would describe this completely homemade reception. When the couple eloped in the presence of their closest family in Leavenworth last year, they came home to a lot of friends who felt a little left out. We were happy to be the location of choice when they decided to celebrate their marriage with all their family and friends. The creative husband and wife designed their peach and mint reception themselves, do-it-yourself style. The party enjoyed pulled pork, a create-your-own salad buffet, and lawn games around the venue. As the night came to an end, kids enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the fire pit while the adults enjoyed each other’s company in under what can only be described as a perfect starry night.

 

What a Weekend!

We had two weddings this past weekend at The Fields. They were both so unique, we couldn’t wait to share them! Our first wedding the bride and groom’s decor was very appropriate for a farm wedding. Complete with cowboy boots, photos of the bride and groom, hand made signs, and tons of beautiful flowers this wedding was a treat for guests. The bride and groom were sent off with sparklers and well wishes.

Our second wedding had a vintage vibe; they used Seattle Farm Tables with antique mismatch plates and beautiful flower arrangements all over the table. This bride and groom rolled with the punches as our power went out halfway through their reception. The party was kept alive by Skillet St. Foods and DJ Jason Clark who kept the food coming and the music pumping.  The two newlyweds ended their evening with s’mores in our firepit.

Out With the Old, in With the New!

After two terrific years we are heartbroken over the loss of our beloved tent. Our fond farewell is the result of tearing on the interior. We’ll be replacing the tent as soon as we find one equal in beauty and superior in strength.

Opening Weekend 2013!

What a great weekend! We had our first two weddings of the year and they were truly spectacular. Our first wedding had beautiful country chic decor complete with lovely roses and fresh apricots everywhere and fresh mint in the arrangements – the venue smelled fantastic! The ceremony took place in our gazebo, which was gussied up with a beautiful fabric backdrop and flowers. After the ceremony the bride and groom had many fun activities for their guests: lawn jenga, horseshoes, s’mores, and great dancing music. The evening ended as it began: with laughter and happy tears. Everyone had a fabulous time.

Our second wedding was very vintage. There was so much thought and detail put into the decor at this wedding; from the vintage table cloths to the guest book table, it was clear that the bride had planned carefully what she wanted in her decor. There was not a cloud in the sky as the bride and groom walked. After the ceremony guests were released to enjoy the venue. The horseshoes were once again a big hit and everyone loved the ponds and fountains on the grounds. After dark, guests had fun with karaoke and sent the happy couple on their way amid the glow of sparklers. It was a magical day.
